GCU Library – When visiting a university, you should take advantage of the many services and facilities offered by the GC University Library. Study rooms
The University Library is home to 40 Study Rooms, also known as GSRs. These rooms can accommodate groups of four to twelve people. Each room features tables, chairs, white boards, and power outlets. The GSRs on the 2nd and 5th floors feature widescreen digital displays. During the day, you can study in the quieter spaces of the library without a group. For students whose needs are more specific, GSRs are a convenient place to work and study.
The GCU Library has a number of study rooms available to students and faculty. All of these rooms are secluded, indoor areas with natural light. There is an option to book study rooms in advance. GCU students can reserve the rooms for up to four hours per day. To reserve the study room, users should use their GCU student email address. After completing the booking, the individual will receive an email confirmation.

Group study rooms can be reserved online for a fee, depending on availability. Group study rooms are intended for groups of two or more, and can be reserved up to 24 hours in advance. Also the group study rooms are not sound-proof, and may not be available for individual study. However, if you are a faculty member, you may be able to reserve a room in advance for up to two hours. The Library does not guarantee availability of study rooms, so if you need a study room for a particular time, you can contact the event and conference services department to make arrangements.
Study rooms are located on the third and fourth floors of the Student Union Building 29. Computer workstations are available on both floors and include dry erase markers. You can also reserve a calculator, computer cables, or dry-erase marker kits, which will be helpful during your biology class. The library also offers free WiFi Hotspots for current students living in the Phoenix metro area. These hotspots can also be taken home to continue using the Internet.
Databases
The GCU library has an incredible variety of resources to support students in their academic career. These resources assist with researching topics, citing sources, and writing. Students can narrow their search by choosing the type of publication, date, and peer-review status. Content ranges from full-text scholarly journal articles to the latest textbooks from reputable publishers. The vast variety of available materials is enough to aid in most research projects. A database is an online index of reliable sources. Students can access thousands of scholarly, business, and other materials through a single search. These databases contain information from e-books, relevant Web resources, and multimedia. They are reliable and original sources and provide students with access to a wide variety of research materials. To access the databases, all students must have a Canvas username and password. Once logged in, they can begin searching.
Another great way to research health care is to find information from reliable sources. The GCU library offers free access to PubMed, which is an online database that contains research materials on numerous medical fields. Users do not need to enter their log-in details to access PubMed, which contains over 32 million citations of biomedical articles. Once logged in, users can browse articles from their favorite journals or access research from other sectors.
One of the most important features of a library database is the fact that it has scholarly information, which is better than general internet search and Google scholar. Since library databases are sourced by experts, they offer high-quality information and help writers assess the quality of information. Several scholarly databases are available through GCU Library, including PubMed and Cochrane library. Interlibrary Loans
The GCU Library offers Interlibrary Loan services to help GC students, faculty, and staff get the materials they need for class, research, or assignments. Canyon University Library uses cloud-based software called Tipasa to track pending requests. Through Tipasa, you can also submit renewal requests online, view electronic articles, and even set up notifications. If you have a specific due date, you can request it in advance of the deadline.
Borrowed materials may be retrieved for a period of up to three weeks. The due dates are clearly marked on the items. If you need a longer loan, you must request it ahead of time. The lender will not automatically grant a renewal. Check the printed label of each borrowed item for any restrictions. Once you’ve requested interlibrary loan materials, you can pick them up at the GCU Library’s circulation desk or download them. Make sure to read the loan agreement, which details how you can renew and return the materials.
To borrow books from other libraries, current GCU students can take advantage of WiFi Hotspots at the GCU library. These hotspots are accessible throughout the Phoenix metro area. To check out a device, you must acknowledge the Checkout Agreement. This document outlines the terms and conditions for using the GCU Library Wi-Fi hotspot device. Read the Checkout Agreement carefully before accepting it. Once the agreement is signed, you can start using the device.
While requesting materials, you must comply with copyright guidelines and laws. To ensure that the GCU Library does not breach copyright laws, make sure you follow the copyright policy. Copyright laws are extremely strict, and requesting libraries are encouraged to do the same. This policy also helps them qualify for the statutory “safe harbors” offered by Copyright Law. This way, they can safely reproduce copyrighted material.
Bookstore
The GCU Library bookstore provides a wealth of resources for students, staff, faculty, and alumni. These materials are written by experts in their fields and reviewed by peers and faculty. They provide key academic services to the community. Many of the books are scholarly, allowing those interested in the subject to gain an expert perspective. GCU’s bookstore will change from its current location to a new name and feel over time.
