An unprecedented live-fire military drill got launched by China in six spots that ring Taiwan on Thursday. It was just the day after the stay of the United States board of representative speaker Pelosi on the self-administered Island that Beijing considers its sovereign domain. Soon after the scheduled start of 0400 GMT, the state broadcaster CCTV said that the drills had started in the airspace surrounding Taiwan.
