There are several different types of breakfast sandwiches near me. You can find one with egg and bacon, pastrami & egg (P & E), or a toasted Filipino roll. A few weeks ago, I visited a restaurant in the Visitacion Valley, Philippines, and was impressed with the taste of the sandwich. It cost about $8, which was okay for a breakfast sandwich that cost more than ten dollars.
Pastrami & egg (P & E)
For a delicious and filling breakfast sandwich, try the Pastrami & Egg Breakfast Sandwich. Its classic recipe is a deli sandwich served on a pretzel bun. We made this delicious sandwich with pastrami, egg, and hollandaise sauce. It is best to have the sandwich at least half an hour before your planned start of the day. This sandwich is great to bring to work or eat on the go!
Start by heating a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack the eggs into a small bowl and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Then, slide them into the skillet one at a time, and cover the pan for about two minutes. After the eggs have cooked, remove the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Repeat this process as needed, or use the same method for a sandwich made with the leftovers.
To make the sandwich, preheat a skillet—heat butter. Add pastrami and sauerkraut. You should heat the sauerkraut through. Then, spread the mayo/ketchup/horseradish mixture on the English muffins. To top it off, toast the English muffins. You can serve the sandwich with either ketchup, horseradish, or mustard.
Pain de mie
A classic French bakery staple, the Pain de Mie is a square bread with a buttery crust and tender crumb. It slices like a dream and is perfect for sandwiches and egg-in-the-hole. Pain de Mie means “bread of the crumb,” referring to its high crumb-to-crust ratio. Pain de Mie is a staple in France and is the equivalent of store-bought white bread in the United States.
To prepare a Pain de mie:
- Begin by lightly frying the dough in a pan with vegetable oil.
- After frying the dough, transfer it to a lightly greased 13-inch Pullman pan and cover it with plastic wrap.
- Let the bread rise for sixty to ninety minutes.
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake the bread for five to seven minutes longer. The internal temperature of the bread should be around 190 F.
To prepare the classic Pain de mie, make the dough the night before. Let it sit overnight in the fridge. Allowing it to rise slowly adds flavor and makes the dough even more delicious. Once toasted, Pain de mie has the perfect crust and crumb. You can also serve it with a thick pat of butter. Pain de mie is incredibly easy to make, as with most classic breakfast sandwiches, and you don’t need a stand mixer.

Thomas’ English muffin
Try a Thomas’ English muffin if you’re looking for a convenient way to make a breakfast sandwich. The 4″ size is ideal for sandwiches, but you can use it for more than just a breakfast sandwich. You can fill it with anything from a thick slice of cheese to a piece of pre-sliced salmon. You can also add sriracha and bagel seasoning for a spicy kick. Thomas’ English muffins are the perfect take-along breakfast and snack!
We make a classic sausage breakfast sandwich on a Thomas'(r) English Muffin. Start by splitting an English muffin and toasting it on a hot skillet for 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile, make ground sausage into four-inch patties. The link will shrink when cooked, so make sure to make them smaller than you expect. Cook them in the bacon fat for about 2 minutes on each side. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and discard any fat. Heat the same skillet to low-medium heat. Add 1 tbsp of butter.
Place both halves of an English muffin on the middle rack of the oven. Allow the muffins to warm up and lightly toast before assembling the sandwich. Set a timer for five minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the bacon. Arrange the bacon on a large-rimmed baking sheet and cover it with parchment paper. While the English muffins toast, savor the bacon. You can enjoy the delicious sandwich anytime!
